My mission as The Joyfull Chef is to raise awareness, and familiarize people with how easy it is to make better food choices without sacrificing flavor or breaking the bank. I offer private Cooking Classes, Team Building Events and other Culinary related activities that will take the mystery out of creating tasty dishes through simple ingredients and simplified cooking techniques.
I am a native Northern Californian, raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, a community rich in culture, varieties of international cuisines and a deep rooted awareness of social responsibilities. This is where I discovered I have food in my DNA, developed my intense passion for everything ‘food’ and desire to share.
Through my travels to remote villages in Asia, Europe and Cordon Bleu training, I’ve created a repertoire of eclectic down-home comfort food to be shared as a personal chef, and classes for causes. My recipes are diverse and full of flavor.
As a recent retiree of a Fortune 500 Company, I’ve expanded my efforts to share knowledge, skills and passions with ‘food insecure’ communities. My experience expands from meal design and prep for ‘Stand Up for Kids’, ‘Cooking with Kids at Risk’ and more recent in So. Nevada, ‘Three Square Food Bank’, ‘The Cupcake Girls’ and ‘The Urban Seed Foundation’ and Refuge For Women.
Food is an international language without boundaries, and everyone should have access armed with knowledge of what is good and flavorful. The ultimate objective is to arm the public with an expanded knowledge of how to select ingredients and prepare great meals.
